Enya is from Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland, which she left in 1980 to conjoin the Irish band Clannad, the grouping that already featured her sr. brothers and sisters. She stayed with Clannad for two long time, so left, crochet up with producer Nicky Ryan and lyrist Roma Ryan, with whom she recorded film and television scores. The soundtrack was released in 1986 as her eponymic solo album. Enya didn't receive much notice, just Enya and the Ryans' minute feat, Watermark, became a surprise reach upon its button in 1988.
